February, 2006 -- The Golden Road Family is Getting BIGGER!
The Golden Road Quartet would like to welcome Lance Hamann and his family to our family. Lance is adding his style of piano playing to the sound of The Golden Road Quartet. Lance resides in Puxico with his wife, Wendy, who is an English/Drama/Speech teacher at Puxico, and his nine year old daughter, Emmalee, who has been a true blessing and enjoys keeping him on his toes. Lance, is currently working for the USDA Forest Service, Mingo Job Corps Center as a purchasing agent and has been a government employee for over ten years. Lance began playing the piano at the age of eight and contributes his ability to play the piano directly to his teacher, Geneva Accord. Lance has been involved in quartets and groups for several years (i.e. Brown Church Quartet, The Warren Sister’s, Brown General Baptist choir, etc.). Lance currently plays on Sundays and special events for both Brown General Baptist Church (21 years) in Puxico and the Lake Wappapello Methodist Church (12years) in Wappapello. We are looking forward to what God has in store for us in this new addition. Please send us an e-mail and welcome Lance. And be sure to come out and see us if we are in your area, if we're not, talk to your local church and we would be glad to come and share with you.
Golden Road Announces latest MiracleJune 21, 2005 -- Thanks to everyone who has been praying for Hayden Watkins. He has had brain surgery and is a walking, singing gift from God. Surgery was shorter than expected and his hospital stay was less than 3 days instead of the projected 5-7. His surgeon said that he was the fastest healing patient he had ever had. That is quite significant since he was the top surgeon at St Louis Children's hospital. God STILL answers prayer so keep praying for each other daily!
New Tenor in TrainingJerry Chewning to join Golden Road10-21-2004 -- Matt has answered the call to go into church music ministry. He will be returning to school for additional training toward the beginning of next year. At that time, he will be leaving the group, to fill the void, the Lord has sent a very talented and spirit filled gentleman to sing the tenor part for the Golden Road. His name is Jerry Chewning, we believe you will come to love and enjoy him as he worships the Lord in song as well as when he entertains you with his good humor. He is pictured below standing between Tim and Dwayne while filling in at Harviell following the birth of Tyler O'Neal
